Our Story:

Founders Brandon Mathis and Jeff Wolfe met on a Green Building jobsite in California. Brandon was in town from Texas and had been installing solar for months. Jeff was looking for a way to transition out of his adventure company and start a green energy business. After many conversations regarding the state of the world, politics and the environment, they came to the conclusion it was only a matter of time before the world would have to make sustainable living the norm.

By 2007 Jeff had moved to Austin, TX to help Brandon’s budding company called Solar Community. With Brandon’s solar expertise and Jeff’s business background the two launched the company with a website, a truck and some tools. Before long they had a reputation for high quality, speedy installations and friendly service.

Today, Solar Community has over 20 employees, revenues over 10m annually, and serves the nation through locations in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. We now offer turnkey solar energy solutions including financing for homeowners, businesses, government and utility companies.
